Temperature Monitoring

In 2023, BBSRI installed two year-round temperature monitors on the Egegik and Ugashik rivers. These stations, manufactured by Beadedstream, collect water and air temperatures on an hourly basis.

The project is intended to be expanded to include a tidbit logger array in Becharof Lake to measure water temperatures at 1m and 15m.

Updated temperature datasets and precise coordinates are available on the Beadedstream website by clicking the links below.

Monitoring Systems

Stations similar to that pictured here are used at both the Egegik and Ugashik monitoring sites. D605 data loggers are connected to air and water temperature monitoring modules by cables, and the entire system is charged using integrated solar panels.

These stations take hourly measurements of water and temperature data, then automatically upload the measurements to the Beadedstream online database.
